Speakers Program
The Speakers Program is particularly strong at our Georgetown campus in Washington, D.C., where guest speakers have included Presidents Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy, Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright, White House Press Secretaries Ari Fleischer and Michael McCurry, Presidential Advisor Karl Rove, Sen. John McCain, Sen. Hillary Clinton, White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and many others.

The Speakers Program at our Stanford, Georgetown and Princeton programs include notable state and local politicians, prominent professors from a wide range of academic disciplines as well as well renowned journalists, powerful lobbyists and influential appointed officials.  Recent speakers include CBS News Anchor Katie Couric, Hoover Institute Fellow Bill Whelan, Former Texas Governor Ann Richards, Economist Milton Freidman, Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte, Former Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, Executive Director of UNICEF Anne Veneman, Director of the Martin L. King Institute Dr. Clayborne Carson, Facebook Executive Chris Kelly and NBC News Anchor Brian Williams.

Rigorous Curriculum
A Rigorous Curriculum is at the heart of the Summer School. Designed with today's student leaders in mind, the program includes an in-depth introduction to U.S. government, U.S. history, politics and public speaking.  Classes meet six days a week, and the collegiate environment stresses substantial reading, research and writing.

Interactive Experiential Simulations
Interactive Experiential Simulations involve you in a hands-on, student-run political experience.  In our Congressional Workshop at Stanford, Georgetown and Princeton you will help create and run a legislative body patterned after the U.S. Congress where students will debate contemporary political issues - civil liberties, anti-terrorism legislation, education reform, and economic policy, to name a few.

“ The other students are what made
Summer School so special. I have never
before been around people who were so
consistently witty, insightful, curious
and knowledgeable about world affairs.”
