JSA Governor Selected for United States Senate Youth Program

Dan HoffmannThe Northeast Junior State of America's student governor, Dan Hoffmann has been selected out of hundreds of students to be one of two representing New York in the 48th Annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) that will be held March 6 – 13, 2010 in Washington, D.C. In addition to a $5,000 scholarship and a trip to Washington D.C., Dan will be among 104 other students in an intensive week-long study of the federal government and the people who lead it.

The United States Senate Youth Program put out a press release with full details about the two New York delegates selected. It highlights Dan's accomplishments saying, "Daniel Hoffmann is Governor of the Northeast Junior State and attends New Rochelle High School. In this capacity he is responsible for convention planning for the entire region of over 2000 students. Dan is a real asset to his school’s Youth Court. He handles his responsibilities with knowledge, compassion, and strength. Dan’s teachers all speak to his openness to the ideas expressed by other students and his strength of character."
