Ted Lempert

Ted attended JSA Summer School at U.C. Davis in 1976 -- he saw the summer school brochure and thought it looked interesting.

JSA has been a major part of his life since.

He was Aragon High School chapter president, state secretary of state and then JSA Governor in 1978. He attended the first Los Angeles and San Francisco symposia.

During college, he was a teaching assistant at three JSA summer schools. He's served on the JSA board of trustees since 1989, and was president in 1998-99.

Ted attended Princeton, Stanford Law, and practiced at Sheppard Mullin until his election to the California State Assembly in 1988. He served eight years in the assembly and four years on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors.

Ted is now CEO of EdVoice, a new statewide advocacy group for public education and education reform (www.edvoice.net). He also serves on the county board of education. Ted and his wife Nicole Bergeron (JSA Summer School 1983) live in San Carlos with their two daughters.
