August 10 — 13, 2010     Princeton University

After September 11, 2001 the U.S. government, and the public as a whole, recognized the need to change the way in which it viewed issues of national security, and undertook a change in strategy to address these new challenges.

This exciting program will examine issues of national security and the policies that surround them.  Students will have the opportunity to hear from and question top experts on issues such as wire tapping, nuclear proliferation, forms of information gathering and sharing, and the challenges the United States currently faces in addressing global threats.  In the evenings, students will engage in a hands-on simulation based around a national security situation.

Students will live in dormitories at the beautiful and historic Princeton University.  All students will be supervised by experienced Resident Assistants.  Each day, students will be taken to the New Jersey State House in Trenton, New Jersey to hear from a range of speakers.  In the evenings, students will return to campus for dinner, a debriefing of the days events, and a hands-on national security simulation.  Students will also have to time socialize with their peers and engage in debates and thought talks with one another.

Past Speakers Include:

  • Governor Jon Corizine
