New Era
Wednesday, 13 February 2008

Good day my fellow JSAers,

Whether you're an Obama supporter, or a Hillary Clinton fan, one thing is for sure when it comes to this election; it's a new era with new rules dragging at its tail. During this weekend, of our Winter Congress, opinions will be buzzing and excitement will increase, each future voter with a vote to make, a person to elect, and the future in their hands! This is election year 2008.

From the beginning, one thing was prevalent in the democratic race; The people of America were adamant for a new beginning. While Hillary chose to focus her campaign motto on Health care for all Americans, her opponent of today went in a different direction; he went for change. In his own words, and the words chanted by many of his supporters; change is coming. Likewise, senator Hillary Clinton soon stood on her platform shouting, 'I am change'. The infamous word, ‘change’ continued to circuit around the campaign trail when Republican rival, John Mc Cain himself started eluding to the fact that change is just a slogan for his two opponents. So what exactly is this 'change' that is being spoken of; I'll tell you what it is.

This change is a change from the George Bush administration. The media chooses to focus on the change in terms of race and gender, but the real change to me is the get back to America as America was in the times of great leaders, such as FDR, and JFK. The American people are looking on not only a leader that will pick up the mess left behind by Mr. Bush, but for a leader they can believe in. So go out and vote, because with this close race; you're vote will count!!
