Is Politics Your Passion? The Junior Statesmen Summer School offers a challenging, dynamic academic experience for students who have a passion for politics and government. This summer, outstanding high school students will gather on four campuses to immerse themselves in what they love, politics and debate!
For more than 69 years, the non-partisan Junior Statesmen Summer School has provided an unparalleled experience for building the statesmen and civic leaders of tomorrow. With programs at four of the most prestigious universities in the world, Georgetown, Yale, Princeton and Stanford, the Junior Statesmen Summer Sessions provide not only an advanced college curriculum, but also the experience of a lifetime.
A Challenging and Unique Curriculum Junior Statesmen Summer School classes are structured to develop your knowledge of government, leadership and history, your ability to speak and write persuasively, and your appreciation for intellectual and ethical principles. Classes meet six days a week. We offer two core courses. Advanced Placement United States Government is available at all five three- to four-week sessions. Students taking this course at Princeton also take an honors course in Speech Communication.
For students who have completed an AP course in U.S. government or U.S. history, our advanced curriculum includes courses in U.S. Foreign Policy, Constitutional Law, AP Comparative Government and PoliticsTM, AP U.S. HistoryTM, Political Philosophy, Campaigns and Elections, The U.S. Presidency, and AP MacroeconomicsTM. Each is offered at one or more of the five Summer School sessions. At Princeton, an advanced speech course is also available for students with experience in debate or public speaking.

Freshman Scholars
Students graduating in from high school in 2013 are eligible for our Freshman Scholars program at Princeton and Stanford University. Students take Advanced Placement United States Government and a highly interactive Leadership course.
Admission
Admission to the Junior Statesmen Summer School is competitive. Acceptance decisions are based on academic achievement, leadership ability, maturity and interest in politics, history and government.
Tuition & ScholarshipsThe total cost of tuition, which includes housing and meals, textbooks, and all other academic expenses for the 2009 session of the Junior Statesmen Summer School is $4,695 at Georgetown and Princeton and $4,395 at Stanford and Yale. The Junior Statesmen Foundation, as part of its mission, provides more than $450,000 in scholarships for both financial need and academic merit. We also help students fundraise in the community.
