How to Apply for Scholarship
Partial Scholarships are available
The Junior Statesmen Foundation administers a Summer School Scholarship Fund of more than $450,000 to assist students who find the tuition to be a barrier. These funds were donated by Summer School alumni, businesses, government institutions, and philanthropic foundations. The Alice Tweed Tuohy Foundation, for example, has established an annual Scholarship Fund to enable outstanding high school students to attend The Junior Statesmen Summer School. A Scholarship Committee awards partial scholarships form this fund using the following criteria: financial need, academic excellence, demonstrated leadership ability and evidence that an applicant is highly motivated to attend.
Because the demand for scholarships is so great, and because of its commitment to help as many students as possible, the Scholarship Committee awards only partial scholarships.

JSA SCHOLARS
Tax-paid members of a Junior State of America (JSA) chapter who attend at least one JSA convention during the 2009-2010 year automatically qualify for a $750 scholarship and membership in the JSA Scholars Program. The JSA Scholars Program provides financial and administrative support to JSA members in order to better prepare them for positions of leadership at the chapter, state, and national levels of the student-run organization. If you are a JSA member, please contact you Program Director to notify them about your official acceptance into Summer School. Contact Junior State National Headquarters at 800-317-9338 if you are not a member of the Junior State of America, but are interested in starting a JSA chapter at your school. |
