This debate boot camp is an accelerated version of the JSA-style debate program that has been traditionally only been offered during a JSA Summer School. Students will be assigned to small groups (based on debate experience and area of interest) to research and debate issues related to systemic inequality. Much of the preparation for debates will happen with an online classroom with a culminating activity on 8/22 when students will debate live and receive feedback from adult judges.
This boot camp is designed for students who are looking to receive real-time feedback from experienced communicators. Students who enroll should be comfortable working without guided facilitation, willing to access and utilize an online classroom and conference service. Once enrolled, students will be given access to the JSA classroom where they will find debate resolutions, resources, and associated assignments.
