JSA Scholar Award Terms

Tax-paid JSA chapter members who attend a 2019/20 school year convention and have completed their Summer Program application by March 13th, 2020 will automatically receive a $1000 award inclusive of all other financial aid. After March 13th the award becomes $500 until April 30th, 2020.

Fall State Raffle Award Terms

Tax-paid JSA chapter members who attend Fall State 2019 are eligible to win an additional $1250 (added onto their JSA Scholar Award) if they begin their Summer School application by the time of the drawing at their respective Fall State.

This award is inclusive of all other financial aid except the JSA Scholar Award (listed above).

Unparalleled Academic Experiences.

Stern-Georgetown Summer School students experience a unique combination of rigorous academics and hands-on learning in our nation’s capital. During three intense weeks, the study of government is enriched by a high-level speakers program and nightly student debates.

The world-famous campus forms a backdrop to three rigorous weeks of political study and debate. Palm trees, red-tiled roofs, and 70 degree sunny days welcome Summer School students to Stanford University, along with an outstanding faculty and an ideal learning environment. Explore San Francisco, visit Google HQ, and feel the buzz of Silicon Valley.

The problems and opportunities facing greater Los Angeles are the focus of this four-day exploration of Southern California politics. The Burd Institute will feature a seminar taught by the people of ProCon.org, a popular website that presents multiple perspectives on issues of importance. Get a sneak peak of the seminar here

Travel to Shanghai to study Mandarin, Chinese history, and the art of diplomacy. Hosted on the campus of one of China’s premier universities, this program aims to provide America’s future leaders with the skills to represent their nation effectively and with a global perspective. No prior Mandarin knowledge required.

By engaging young women with a passion for politics and public life, we aim to support the emergence of a new generation of leaders in a variety of fields, with a specific focus on the opportunities and challenges that arise for women, as well as the value of building a supportive network of peers.
